The Dell Scholars Program
The
Dell Scholars Program is a need-based scholarship for disadvantaged students who display a proven ability to overcome obstacles and pursue and achieve their goals. The program is open to high school seniors who have participated in an eligible college readiness program for at least two years. Successful applicants will show how attending college impacts not only their lives, but the lives of others.
Students who are interested in the Dell Scholars program must begin the application process between November 1 and January 15 of their senior year. Eligible students must demonstrate financial need and have a minimum 2.4 GPA. Applicants should be prepared to communicate the value of their determination and perserverance in facing the adversities they have overcome or currently face.
The Dell Scholars Program awards 250 need-based scholarships each year. Each scholar receives $20,000 over a six-year period to continue their higher education. From the original applicants, the scholarship committee announces its semifinalists in February. These semifinalists submit additional materials through the documentation period, and from this group, 250 Dell Scholars are chosen.
